Abstract

Objective: To determine the sociodemographic factors associated with the abandonment of prenatal control in pregnant women in Peru during the year 2020 Material and Methods: It is an observational, cross-sectional, retrospective and analytical study, the information was obtained based on the national demographic and health survey (ENDES) 2020 of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics. Results: A prevalence of 11.3% (n =470) of Abandonment of Prenatal Control, in the multivariate analysis an association was found with the variables maternal age of 15-19 years (Rpa: 4.47, CI: 2.35 -8.49), primary education level to less (Rpa: 1, 7, CI: 1.11- 2.59), multiparity (Rpa: 2.33, 95% CI: 1.73 – 3.14), single marital status (Rpa: 1.85, 95% CI: 1.26 – 2.70) within the institutional factors, it was determined that care by the health personnel is a protective factor of the abandonment of prenatal control.
